Buttery Rosemary Steak

If you’re like me and love to sleep, then you’ll often find yourself sleeping through breakfast time. You will wake up at 1 pm and crave some sustenance that can get you up and out the door. I have the perfect portion-packed meal for you that is sure to melt its way into your heart. This flavorful piece of meat will take you on a mouthwatering journey from the first tender bite.

Ingredients:

  • 1 steak (filet mignon approx. 5oz)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 large sprig of rosemary

Method:

  1. Season steak with salt and pepper on both sides and let marinate
  2. In the meantime, heat a cast-iron pan on medium-high heat until hot and add olive oil
  3. Add steak to the pan and cook for 3 minutes or until browned
  4. Flip steak and cook for 2 minutes or until browned
  5. Add butter and rosemary to the pan
  6. shake the pan a bit till the butter is completely melted, then tilt pan
  7. Continuously spoon the butter over the steak for 2 minutes while it is still in the pan
  8. Set oven on broil on the high level and transfer the pan from the stove to the oven and cook for 1–2 minutes
  9. Transfer the steak to a wooden chopping board and let it rest for 10 minutes
  10. Discard the rosemary
  11. Slice the steak and pour as much of the remaining butter as you’d like over the cuts and serve
